Leading Water and Utility Training Provider Celebrates 10 years in Business

Specialist water and utilities training services provider – McCrae Training – celebrates its 10th year in business this year with a strong order book and exciting growth plans to bolster its extensive range of specialist training services.

The Scottish firm – which was founded in 2011 – has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings operating from a single unit to its current state of the art training and assessment facilities in East Kilbride.

The firm now boasts the accolade of being the sole provider to offer Water Industry Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland and Design of Water Networks qualifications and has recently announced the launch of an industry and UK first, Water Skills Academy, which has seen the business widen its geographical offering and create further jobs across the UK Utility Sector.

Headed up by Scott McCrae – a Fellow Member of the Institute of Water – the company has secured a number of award wins in its decade and is firmly positioning itself as the go to provider of the very best and specialist water training programmes in the industry. Awards have included UK Water Industry Training Organisation of the Year for two consecutive years and runner up to Yorkshire Water in 2021 for the Water Industry Skills Initiative Awards.

Speaking about the company’s 10th anniversary and its success to date, Scott said: “We firmly believe our success is based on a number of factors; the outstanding knowledge and impressive technical capabilities of our team, first and foremost, combined with our passion to deliver training high quality programmes regarded as best practice across the water and utilities industries.

“Collaborating with global leaders that use only the very latest, industry leading technology means we can consistently provide our clients with the best training programmes tailored to their needs and which meet the requirements of their business and their industry.”

Supporting over 85% of Water and Wastewater contractors and consultants across the country, including the likes of Veolia Group, GTC, Morrison Group and Water Companies, the company is an acknowledged leader in specialist training and assessment.

“With a healthy order book for the next 12 months and the business receiving a growing number of new bookings, we have great expectations for this next year to be one of our most successful to date.” Scott added.
