One of the UK’s leading providers of specialist training and assessment to the water and utilities sector has announced the launch of a number of satellite centres across the UK as the business looks to expand its specialist training services.
McCrae Training – located in East Kilbride – is one of the UK’s quality providers to offer Modern Apprenticeships in Water, Wastewater Networks, Treatment and Design and, as part of its ambitious growth plans, has announced the opening of 2 new training centres that will be located in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The centres will provide extensive training services to its flagship centres in Scotland, and which will include water and gas main laying and jointing, street works, together with high pressure water jetting and CCTV inspection and investigation.
Speaking about the company’s growth plans, Scott McCrae, Founder and Managing Director of the business said: “As one of the leading providers of water and utilities training in the UK, we have been experiencing increasing demand for our courses and training services throughout the country.
“As such, it made perfect sense to open additional training facilities that could accommodate demand and increase our footprint in the UK.”
McCrae Training has been operating in Scotland for over nine years and – in that time – has carved a reputation as being the leading quality provider for water and utility sector training. The company boasts clients including Veolia Group, GTC, Scottish Water and Morrison Group as amongst its clients.
Only last month, the company was shortlisted for Skills and Workforce Initiative of the Year at the 2021 Water Industry Awards, a long-established water industry event which recognises outstanding service and commitment to the water industry.
The satellite centres are planned for launch in August and are expecting to see a significant influx in numbers as business start to re-open and training programmes are renewed and updated.

The Academy comprises a network of training and education providers, awarding bodies, skills agencies and funding providers committed to tackling skills challenges and promoting certified contractor status within the water sector.
