Book your space on our National Water Hygiene & DOMS course

The UK water industry recognises the National Water Hygiene Scheme as an important aspect of ensuring public health and encouraging safe drinking water practices. Our mains water environment and Distribution Operations & Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) programme is aimed to ensure that people have a well-rounded awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as their associated responsibilities.

The course will provide delegates with the skills necessary to effectively handle safety issues, guaranteeing the safety of the workers, other people, and the general environment whilst also assuring legal compliance.

Split into two modules and delivered by our accredited trainers over the course of one day, these mandatory qualifications are designed for anyone tendering and carrying out work for Scottish Water. Built upon the foundation formed by the EUSR National Water Hygiene scheme, the programme was created to guarantee that water company staff, contractors, supervisors, consultants, delivery partners, framework providers, and self-lay organisations all follow a similar strategy to protect the water quality reaching customers. Problems impacting water quality, such as discoloration, microbiological failures, and issues with taste and smells, will be reduced by applying this consistent approach to the operation and maintenance of distribution assets.
