First MA Achiever in Water Jetting

P1040190McCrae Training wish to congratulate Kieran McWilliams for achieving the first Scottish Apprenticeship in Sewerage Operations- Diploma Level 5 – Water Jetting Operative.

Kieran is an operative of DAMM Environmental, based in Hillington, Glasgow, who specialise in Drainage Maintenance Services inclusive of Drain Cleaning, CCTV Surveys and Civil Engineering works.

Kieran achieved his Diploma over an eighteen month period during which he gained innumerable experience in High Pressure Water Jetting and Health & Safety within the Water Jetting Industry.

Glasgow Rocks Visit

 

 

McCrae Training Ltd were happy to welcome Glasgow Rocks mascot- Rocky along to our Training Facility in East Kilbride on Wednesday 25th October.

As you will see from the photos below Rocky had a great day learning about day 1 of our New Roads and Street Works Training – Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus.

Vacancy : Trainee Administration Assistant

Salary: £ 12k per annum

Due to continued growth, McCrae Training Ltd have a fantastic opportunity within our Business Administration Team for a Trainee Administration Assistant working in our Head Office in East Kilbride on a permanent full time basis.

This is an entry level role and the successful candidate will complete an SVQ Level 2/3.

You will be working in a fast-paced office environment where you will be expected to carry out multiple tasks operating against structured processes and procedures.

What a typical day might look like, but not limited to:

  • Date Entry into internal/ external corporate systems
  • Meeting and liaising with candidates and clients
  • Liaising with staff across departments
  • Answering telephones and taking messages
  • Handling incoming/ outgoing electronic and standard mail
  • Planning and organising of training and consultancy programmes
  • Filing digital and hard copy data
  • General administrative tasks on individual and team basis
  • Incoming mail – scanning and distribution
  • Outgoing mail
  • Filing
  • General typing – spread sheets
  • Room preparation for meetings – Tea/coffee for all internal meetings and tidying of training rooms
  • Booking of accommodation and flights

All of the above requires good communication and organisational skills. The ideal candidate will want to learn about the business and the reasons behind the tasks they are asked to complete.

CSCS & WJA Agree Blue Skilled Workers Card for Jetting Operatives

CSCS & WJA Agree Blue Skilled Workers Card for Jetting Operatives

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and the Water Jetting Association have agreed a new route to the Blue Skilled Worker Card.

The Water Jetting Association (WJA) Safety Awareness Training Programme has been approved as an equivalent to the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Associated Industrial Services Occupations (Water Jetting).

This means that from 14th August 2017 to 1st September 2018, the WJA Safety Awareness Training Programme will be accepted as an approved route to the CSCS Blue Skilled Workers Card.

Please note: The Standard Setting Body CITB will review the training programme before September 2018.

To apply using this route, you must have a Water Jetting Association Safety Awareness Certificate, a valid WJA Photo ID Card and have achieved one of the following WJA Modules:

  1. Drain and Sewer Jetting
  2. Surface Preparation, Cleaning and Jetting
  3. Tube Pipe and Bundle Jetting
  4. Hydrodemolition.
  5. You must also have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Operatives within the 2 years prior to your application.
